By Executive Decree No. 354, published in Official Gazette No. 258 on April 6, 2026, the President of the Republic ordered the suspension of the workday on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in order to incorporate this day into the national holiday on May 1, 2026.
The suspension of the workday shall be mandatory for employers in both the public and private sectors and shall not be subject to make-up work.
In the event that an employer requires an employee to work during these holidays, the employer shall be obligated to pay a 100% premium on the hours worked.
