He advises international mining companies on the management and development of mining portfolios, including the acquisition, maintenance, and regularization of environmental concessions, licenses, and permits, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of sustainability and social responsibility strategies. He has extensive experience in consultation processes, community engagement, and negotiation of investment and socio-environmental compensation agreements.
He also advises on the negotiation, structuring, and execution of Investment Protection Agreements, combining a deep understanding of the Ecuadorian legal framework with a strategic vision focused on the regulatory and fiscal stability of large-scale projects.
His track record includes extensive interaction with regulatory authorities and technical teams, participating in the structuring of legal and contractual frameworks for mining exploration and production projects. He has supported his clients throughout all phases of the mining cycle, promoting processes based on criteria of sustainability, transparency, and responsible governance.
His practice also encompasses the formulation of business strategies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, preventive and corrective environmental management, and the design of ESG compliance and reporting mechanisms.
