By Executive Decree No. 249, dated December 17, 2025, the President of the Republic ordered the suspension of the workday corresponding to Friday, January 2, 2026.
As a result of this provision, the year-end holiday will extend to four consecutive days. The suspension of the workday will be mandatory for employers in both the public and private sectors and will not be subject to recovery.
If an employer requires the services of a worker during this period, they will be obliged to pay a 100% surcharge on the hours worked.
